Other Info | This project is a partnership between Scales Nature Park, Laurentian University, and the Canadian Herpetological Society. The project is funded through the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry Species at Risk Stewardship Fund to provide educational programming. The program runs in two parts, beginning with a 30-45 minute presentation about various native species. This is followed by a hands-on experience where the audience is given the opportunity to touch or hold live snakes and ask questions. Many of the species used in this program are species at risk in Ontario. Education is one way to ensure these animals will be present for future generations.
