The 114th Annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count takes place Dec 14, 2013 to January 5, 2014. This is the longest running Citizen Science survey in the world and provides critical data on population trends. There are tens of thousands of participants who know that it is also a lot of fun. Locally, there are 6 Christmas Bird Counts that actively advertise for participants.

November 3, 2010:  The Bruce Birding Club was on a roll today in their visit to Grand Bend .  As well as the birds listed above, they saw 56 species of birds including 8 species of sparrows, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Black Scoter and Long-tailed Duck etc., etc..  For a complete list of birds seen today and their location, email birding@owensoundfieldnaturalists.ca for a full report.  If you wish to be put on a mailing list to receive these bi-monthly birding reports or to make some website comments, please contact  birding@owensoundfieldnaturalists.ca.  OSFN’s area of interest extends from Collingwood, Bruce and Grey Counties and south to Grand Bend.
