Nature Ramble in the Beaver Valley with Jen Ryckman Worrall

| Nature Ramble in the Beaver Valley with Jen Ryckman Worrall Date: Monday May 19 Time: 9:30am to 11:30am or 12 Noon Join us for a Nature Ramble in the Beaver Valley with Jen Ryckman Worrall, on her 100 acre property at 726325 Sideroad 22b [East of Rocklyn and just East of Grey Road 7]. Also well-known locally as https://www.thefarmershouse.ca/ near the Epping/Rocklyn area. Bring lunch/snacks to enjoy at Jen’s scenic lookout over the beautiful Beaver Valley. Enjoy the wonderful meadows for grassland birds, the coniferous forest habitat and more, plus some water and wetland features. You will be walking up to 3KM at a relaxed pace along good walking trails – mostly flat, except for one steep sloped area. Remember that it is both Tick season and Black Fly season, so please take appropriate steps to be comfortable and protected. Recent sightings include Bobolink, Scarlet Tanager, Gray Catbird, Eastern Kingbird, Eastern Phoebe, Northern Parula, Eastern Towhee, Baltimore Oriole, Salamanders. Many of these sightings were posted on Beaver Valley Birding Facebook page. Limit 15 – This is also a Family Friendly event so well-behaved and monitored children are welcome – as long as they can handle the hike and the potential of bugs. OSFN Indoor Meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Bayshore Community Centre, 1900 3rd Ave E Owen Sound. There are no Indoor Meetings in July and August. Please see the individual event listings below for more details.
We invite speakers with a wide range of expertise from Grey/Bruce and other parts of the province. These evenings are open to the public. The auditorium is open by 6:30. The meeting gets under way at 7:00, and may include brief announcements by other organizations as well as OSFN club activities, club business, social time, nature sightings and reports.
The club also offers a full schedule of outdoor activities during the year. Through these outings, members learn more about the birds, plants, mammals and geology of this part of Ontario. We also keep a protective eye on our precious natural areas.
