EARTH DAY 2018 – Alone Across Canada&#0039

April 22, 2018 @ 2:00 pm

We are also pleased to announce that tickets (only $5. each) are available right away, for Earth Day – 2PM Sunday April 22, 2018, featuring the Keynote Address by Adam Shoalts – Author, Naturalist and Explorer – on board the newly renovated MS Chi-Cheemaun.
Celebrating Earth Day and his love for Nature, Adam Shoalts will present “Alone Across Canada’s Arctic: A 4,000 km journey through Canada’s Northern Wilderness.” Shoalts’ congenial personality and insatiable curiosity have made him a popular speaker, who is looking forward to his return to Owen Sound, where he hopes to join in other Earth Day activities while he is here next Spring.

This event is made possible by the kind hospitality of the Owen Sound Transportation Company, (OSTC), and the generous sponsorship of Caframo. Tickets will be available at OSFN Club meetings, at the Ginger Press (along with Adam Shoalts’ books) and the office of OSTC at Springmount, plus at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market. All proceeds will go to OSFN Youth Projects.

OSFN Indoor Meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. at the Bayshore Community Centre, 1900 3rd Ave E Owen Sound. There are no Indoor Meetings in July and August. Please see the individual event listings below for more details.

We invite speakers with a wide range of expertise from Grey/Bruce and other parts of the province. These evenings are open to the public. The auditorium is open by 6:30. The meeting gets under way at 7:00, and may include brief announcements by other organizations as well as OSFN club activities, club business, social time, nature sightings and reports.

The club also offers a full schedule of outdoor activities during the year. Through these outings, members learn more about the birds, plants, mammals and geology of this part of Ontario. We also keep a protective eye on our precious natural areas.
