Description

The Vascular Plant List Bruce & Grey: Compendium is a keystone publication of the Owen Sound Field Naturalists, for the serious botanist. This totally revised and expanded edition of the Vascular Plant List is available as a PDF document in a fully annotated version with a detailed dataset. It is an essential reference for naturalists, botanists, life science inventory specialists, land use planners, resource management agencies, and consultants who are working within Bruce and Grey Counties. The OSFN contracted Tyler Miller, Field Ecologist to revise the list and he has totally updated content since our 4th Edition. It includes 1611 taxa (species, subspecies and hybrids) for 131 families, including all locally and provincially rare plants found in the counties. This is one of the first vascular plant lists in Ontario to include floristic affinities, which are noted throughout the list. The table in the Compendium includes scientific names, common names, infraspecific taxon, taxa (complex), synonyms, coefficient of conservation, coefficient of wetness, G-Rank, N-Rank, S-Rank and SAR conservation rankings as well as comments from the compiler relating to historic and new species.
