SUMMARY:Moth Night and Moth Morning Workshops with Alan Macnaughton
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 24\, 2026\, from 8:45pm – 11:15pm and Monday\, May 25\, 7am to 9:30am to open moth traps. \n\n\n\nPeople are welcome to attend one or both – with their registration.  \n\n\n\nLeader: Alan Macnaughton \n\n\n\nLocation: Grey Sauble Conservation Administration Centre and Arboretum\, 237897 Inglis Falls Road\, RR 4\, Owen Sound (note: do not confuse this location with the nearby Inglis Falls Conservation Area). \n\n\n\nThere is still lots of room to register for this fifth annual event  with Alan at the GSCA Pavilion (each at different dates of the Spring and Summer) \n\n\n\nFor this event members of the Toronto Entomologists Association have also been invited to join us. \n\n\n\nThe moth night will start with viewing and releasing moths captured the night before. Then\, we will want to identify and record the moths as they arrive\, perhaps by uploading observations to the www.iNaturalist.ca website — it can identify observations to species with at least 90% accuracy. This is the first time we have had the event this early in the season\, so there should be a lot of species we haven’t seen on previous moth nights. Bring either phones or regular cameras. \n\n\n\nLevel terrain\, but darkness\, tree limbs and roots may present some risks. Please register in advance by email to John Dickson  jwdickso@gmail.com).  Waiver May 24 and 25 2026 Moth night and Moth night workshops – Google Forms
