Bruce Birding Club Outing – Feb.2-2010

The Bruce birding Club went out today focussing on winter time Snowy Owls and Raptors and had some pleasant additional surprises.  Two species of Eagles, Golden and Bald, along with Bohemian Waxwings and Northern Shrike were happily observed.  Also, the sought after winter migrant Snowy Owls and Rough-legged Hawks were found .  In total 28 species of birds were recorded.  For a complete list of birds seen and locations they were found in today, please contact birding@owensoundfieldnaturalists.ca.  You can also request BBC outings to be sent out on a regular basis. The weather conditions had temperatures ranging between -1 and -3 Centigrade.  There was one burst of sunlight around noon, with mostly overcast clouds and 2 episodes of serious snowfall, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
